Market Overview

Crypto majors traded higher across the board Wednesday. Bitcoin reclaimed the $84,677 handle with a +2.0% ↑ session, trimming its weekly loss to just 0.6% while holding onto a 13.7% advance over the past 30 days. XRP was the standout, printing +3.8% ↑ to $1.39, and solana added +1.5% ↑ to $108.14 — now up 15.6% on the month and leading the majors on that window.

The breadth of the move is the story. Four-for-four green on the headline majors, with the laggards from earlier this week doing the heaviest lifting.

Asset Price Analysis

Bitcoin's intraday reclaim of the mid-$84,000s brings it back within range of its recent highs after a soft start to the week. Price has held above the $84,000 handle into the close, with the 30-day gain of 13.7% still the strongest among the four majors.

Ether closed at $2,493.12, up +1.8% ↑ on the day but still carrying a -3.7% ↓ weekly drag. ETH remains the clear relative underperformer, with a 30-day return of just 3.7% versus solana's 15.6% and bitcoin's 13.7%. The ETH/BTC underperformance is now a multi-week pattern rather than a one-session blip.

Solana at $108.14 extended its 7-day gain to +9.2% ↑, the strongest weekly print of the group. XRP at $1.39 added +3.8% ↑ intraday and now sits +8.4% ↑ on the month. The rotation away from ether into the smaller-cap majors is visible in both the price tape and, as noted below, in the prior settled ETF session.

ETF Flows Context

Issuer reports for Wednesday's session have not yet been published and will settle overnight. The most recent fully-settled session was Tuesday, October 20, for which InflowScan data shows total net outflows of -$14.6M ↓ across spot crypto ETFs. XRP coverage was partial — 8 of 9 funds reported, with XRPK still settling.

Composition told the ETH-rotation story cleanly:

  • IBIT (BlackRock): +$29.6M ↑
  • FBTC (Fidelity): +$3.6M ↑
  • ETHA (BlackRock): -$32.5M ↓
  • FETH (Fidelity): -$6.0M ↓
  • BSOL (Bitwise): -$4.9M ↓

Bitcoin products pulled in roughly $33M on net while ether products shed about $38M — a near-mirror image. That the BTC-ETH flow divergence has coincided with ETH's weekly underperformance is consistent with issuer-level rotation rather than a broad de-risking. The BSOL outflow is harder to square with solana's +9.2% weekly print; it may reflect profit-taking into strength rather than a reversal in conviction, though a single session is a small sample.

Stablecoin Pulse

Dry powder was flat-to-slightly-lower on the session. InflowScan data shows USDC supply down $17.2M to $72.2B and USDT down $19.1M to $182.9B. Both moves are rounding-error at the aggregate level and do not point to meaningful stablecoin minting or redemption pressure. The sidelined-capital picture is essentially unchanged.

Outlook

Watch tomorrow's pre-market print for Wednesday's settled ETF flows — specifically whether ETHA's redemption streak continues into a session where ETH itself posted a 1.8% gain. If ether-product outflows persist against a positive price tape, the issuer-level rotation thesis strengthens.

On price, bitcoin's ability to hold above the $84,000 handle into Thursday's open is the key level to watch; a sustained reclaim of the mid-$84,000s would mark a full recovery of this week's early softness. For ether, the $2,500 round number sits just above Wednesday's close and has acted as a pivot in recent sessions. Solana and XRP both enter Thursday with 30-day gains that leave them vulnerable to profit-taking; monitor whether the strength broadens or narrows back to the two large caps.
