ETF Flows
Spot bitcoin ETFs absorbed +$184.7M ↑ in Wednesday's settled session, according to InflowScan data. Thursday's issuer reports have not yet published; the numbers below reflect the most recent settled tape.
Fidelity's FBTC dominated the day, taking in $143.2M — roughly 77% of the total net inflow. Morgan Stanley's MSBT added another $32.4M, and Grayscale's ETHE logged a rare $4.3M inflow on the ether side. No fund on the reported tape registered net outflows.
- +$143.2M ↑ — FBTC (Fidelity)
- +$32.4M ↑ — MSBT (Morgan Stanley)
- +$4.3M ↑ — ETHE (Grayscale)
The FBTC concentration is the story. When a single issuer accounts for three-quarters of a day's take, the flow reads more like a routed allocation than broad-based demand — consistent with prior episodes where advisor platforms rebalanced through a preferred vehicle rather than diversified across the complex.
Asset Price Analysis
Bitcoin traded at $83,482 heading into the Thursday open, down 1.2% on the day and 0.6% over the week. The 30-day gain of 13.7% remains the anchor number — spot has given back only a fraction of the September run despite this week's chop.
Ether lagged, changing hands at $2,644.31, off 1.5% in 24 hours and down 3.7% on the week. The BTC/ETH divergence has widened through September: bitcoin up 13.7% over 30 days, ether up just 3.7% over the same window. That gap is difficult to square with the modest ETHE inflow noted above and points to spot-market selling rather than ETF-led rotation.
Solana held up better than the majors, trading at $113.19 for a 9.2% weekly gain and 15.6% monthly. XRP changed hands at $1.47, down 2.3% intraday but up 8.4% on the month. Both alts have outperformed ether on a 7-day basis, which is consistent with capital rotating down the cap stack rather than exiting the asset class.
Stablecoin Flows
Stablecoin supply expanded modestly. USDC added $403M to reach $76.3B, and USDT grew $72.6M to $183.5B, according to InflowScan data. The USDC-led expansion is the more informative number — USDC issuance historically correlates with US institutional on-ramp activity, and the pace lines up with the FBTC-heavy flow tape.
Outlook
Thursday's issuer flow reports will settle overnight and print in tomorrow's brief. The question is whether the FBTC-concentrated tape from Wednesday extends or whether the wider complex re-engages. A second consecutive day of single-issuer dominance would suggest an allocation event rather than trend demand.
Levels to watch on bitcoin: the $83,000 handle marks the recent range floor, with prior support near $81,500. Ether has struggled to defend $2,700 through the week; a sustained break of $2,600 would extend the underperformance versus BTC. No major macro data is on the immediate calendar, leaving flow prints as the near-term driver.
