ETF Flows Recap

Spot crypto ETFs recorded -$152.7M ↓ in net outflows during Wednesday's settled session, according to InflowScan data. The figure was driven almost entirely by a single fund: Fidelity's FBTC logged -$152.7M ↓, a concentration that suggests one large allocator unwinding rather than broad distribution across the issuer complex. Thursday's issuer reports have not yet published and are still settling.

The remaining tape was thin. Bitwise's BITB absorbed +$2.2M ↑, the only reported inflow across the twelve bitcoin products. On the altcoin side, Bitwise's BSOL saw -$1.3M ↓ and Franklin's EZET logged -$0.9M ↓. Ether and XRP products reported no material activity in the settled tape.

  • FBTC (Fidelity): -$152.7M ↓
  • BSOL (Bitwise): -$1.3M ↓
  • EZET (Franklin): -$0.9M ↓
  • BITB (Bitwise): +$2.2M ↑

The FBTC concentration is the story. When a single fund carries the full day's redemption while BlackRock's IBIT and the rest of the complex go quiet, the pattern reads more like a scheduled rebalance or allocator-specific exit than a sentiment shift across the ETF investor base. Thursday's settled tape, published Friday morning, will indicate whether the Fidelity flow was isolated.

Asset Price Action

Bitcoin trades at $80,986, down 0.9% over 24 hours and 0.6% over the past week. The 30-day gain of 13.7% remains intact, keeping BTC on the stronger side of major crypto majors despite the recent chop. Price has held the $80,000 handle through the Wednesday redemption, with resistance at the prior-week highs near $82,500.

Ether is the weak link. ETH trades at $2,362.70, down 2.5% on the day and 3.7% on the week, with the 30-day return of 3.7% now well behind both BTC and SOL. The underperformance has persisted through October despite stable ether ETF flows, pointing to spot-market rotation rather than fund-level distribution.

Solana extended its weekly gain to 9.2% even as it gave back 2.1% on the day, trading at $102.08 and holding above the psychological $100 level. XRP changed hands at $1.31, down 2.0% over 24 hours but up 8.4% on the month.

Stablecoin Pulse

Combined USDC and USDT supply contracted by roughly $477 million over the past 24 hours, according to InflowScan data. USDC fell $365.7 million to $72.8 billion, while USDT shed $111.5 million to $183.9 billion. A modest contraction in dollar-proxy supply during a down session is consistent with risk reduction rather than fresh dry powder arriving on exchanges.

Outlook

Thursday's settled flow data, which publishes Friday morning, is the key tell. A second consecutive day of Fidelity-concentrated redemptions would reframe the Wednesday print as the start of a trend; a return to balanced flows across IBIT, FBTC, and the mid-cap issuers would confirm the one-off read. Watch for BTC's defense of the $80,000 handle intraday and whether ETH can reclaim $2,400 after the 2.5% drop. Stablecoin supply trajectory into Friday will indicate whether sidelined capital is rebuilding or continuing to drain.
